semantic anomaly
semantic anomaly is an AV space of infinite text where algorithms break into hypnotic visual chaos. Defying data determinism, Sasha Kojjio asserts that true emotion and meaning cannot be computed; they emerge unexpectedly as a sudden epiphany or a beautiful error.

2026

semantic anomaly is an audiovisual space comprised of infinite arrays of text and algorithms.

Algorithm is a set of rules, patterns of behavior, when executed in correct order it produces discreet result. In this work I reject utility in favor of vitality. I push algorithms to their limits while they are still doing their job, but also create something visually stunning alongside, in the process, as a side effect.

The work demonstrates this process - it starts from single piece of code, and over the course of installation I introduce complications and variations which drastically change it, while work is still retaining its core. With these continuous subtle manipulations I strive to create this dream-like journey where landscape is slowly shapeshifting and viewers give up any attempts to logically understand the work of algorithms and surrender themselves into the world constructed from traces of meaning.
